What we do to our Society?
At Gateway, We View our Business as a Mission to Bring a Holistic Transformation To Society.
We seek to do this through being involved in ethical business and along the way try to positively impact the lives of the people we work with. Simply making money is not our main motivation, what is most important at Gateway is how we can influence or change things around us for the better. With this belief, since Gateway’s inception we have been seeking to make a positive contribution to the lives of people in the communities in which we operate. One of the best ways to make an impact is through education. Quality education is the key to the long-term success of any country, helps build better, more inclusive societies and increases young people’s opportunities. Therefore among our proudest achievements are the establishment of two not-for-profit schools.
In 1997,we opened the Kazakhstan International School in the city of Almaty, which follows International Baccalaureate curriculum, with emphasis on lessons in English. We then followed up that success by opening Novaya Shkola in 2003 in Almaty, which follows Kazakhstan’s national curriculum. In both of our schools our main aim is that each individual child fulfils their potential. Our teachers listen to and nurture pupils, encouraging them to excel academically, and thrive at sports, music and drama. But we believe qualifications alone do not produce exemplary people; that takes holistic development, which is why the motto of our schools is, “More than just academics”.
We want our pupils to make a real difference to life in their schools, in their communities and eventually to their country, so we ensure they not only excel academically, but develop skills to rise to future challenges and contribute to the world in which they live. To achieve this goal, we strive to create a family atmosphere in our classrooms, where time is devoted to encourage social and emotional development and reinforce family values. Both schools have outstanding teaching and support staff who are excited about education and care deeply about their students.
